COLUMBUS, OH --Michael Shank Racing driver Ozz Negri can’t exactly put his finger on it, but there is just something about Michael Shank Racing that puts them up front on new tracks.

The first time GRAND-AM’s Rolex Sports Car Series visited Miller Motorsports Park in 2006, Negri and co-driver Mark Patterson broke through for Michael Shank Racing’s very first race victory in the Rolex Sports Car Series. The race win came after nine hard hours of racing into the desert darkness as Negri powered to the finish with five Daytona Prototypes giving chase right to the checkered flag. The win was the first for the team and brought a Manufacturer Championship to the table as well as netting the fan-favorite vote for the “Rolex Moment of the Year.”

And so it was again in 2008 for Michael Shank Racing as the team made a triumphant return to the top of the Rolex Sports Car Series podium at Miller Motorsports Park as John Pew, Ian James, and IndyCar star Raffa Matos teamed for a win in the season-ending 2008 race.

Negri is now teamed with Pew in 2010, and the duo now proudly carry the colors of Crown Royal XR on the No. 60 Ford-Riley. Heading into the 2010 edition of the Miller Motorsports Park event, Michael Shank Racing has a little bit different look, but exactly the same objective.

Tooele, UT--7 September 2010 –  Rum Bum Racing opened the 2010 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season in dramatic fashion, taking a win at Daytona International Speedway in the team’s first-ever race start to kick start the year. Some nine fast months later, Rum Bum Racing will look to close the year out with a similar result as the series heads west for the final race of the 2010 season at Miller Motorsports Park.

Along with their helmets and racing suits, drivers Matt Plumb and Nick Longi will also pack the positive momentum of their recent race win for the Miller weekend after the duo teamed for a victory in the previous round of GRAND-AM racing north of the border on the famed streets of Trois Rivieres last month.

While Plumb and Longhi both have experience on the track, the visit to the Miller Motorsports Park track is the first for Rum Bum Racing. But with the facility utilizing a different track layout than in years past, the team will be learning the new circuit at the same time as the competition starting with Thursday’s promoter test day.

Tooele, UT (7 September 2010) – Every notable career, be it in acting or racing, hinges on what happens in auditions.

And when Matt Bell got his first Daytona Prototype race start with Doran Racing in Rolex Sports Car Series competition at New Jersey Motorsports Park, it is safe to say that he aced the audition.

Despite the fact that Bell had never driven a single lap in a Daytona Prototype before the weekend started, he impressed in qualifying before setting a pace in the race that earned him  the Jim Trueman award in a  highly impressive debut.

That effort earned the young Californian a call-back, as Doran Racing has selected Bell to team with fellow young racer Dion von Moltke this weekend at Miller Motorsports Park for the Rolex Sports Car Series season-finale as the two team up in the No. 77 South African Airways/PRNewswire Ford-Dallara. The pairing could well reflect the future look of the Rolex Series, as the duo have both shown rapid ascension in the GRAND-AM ranks and are the youngest driver pairing set to take the grid this Saturday.
