nextrend3.jpgIndianapolis, IN— Motor Sport magazine’s United States editor Gordon Kirby has written the following ‘The Way It Is’ column at his website www.gordonkirby.com.Kirby, who has seen the full arc of the IZOD IndyCar Series through his decades of contributing to the sport with his journalistic coverage, pressed the designers about their design, the infrastructure that will be required to support the teams, and the various ways to feature efficiency with the design.

Safety is a key focus of the BAT Engineering design, and as the clock ticks on while the process moves forward, the conversation moves to the drastic need to move forward in 2012 before yet another back injury is suffered with the current design.

The two Indianapolis 500-winning designers also shed some light on the comprehensive production, spares, and team integration plans that the BAT Engineering business plan holds as well as the long-term plans for the organization.

Danville, VA (20 April 2010)—Virginia International Raceway will host round four of the 2010 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge championship this weekend as Adam Burrows and Trevor Hopwood prepare to continue the upward mobility the duo have established with the No. 12 Kia Motors/Infinity Audio Kia Forte Koup in Saturday’s 2.5 hour Bosch Engineering 200.

VIR is set in a picturesque country-club like setting in rural Virginia, and has been the site of several strong outings for the duo. The two locked up their run to the championship in fine style at the track with a third place finish, and then backed that up with another podium performance the very next season.

The track, which has historically staged six-hour enduros to close out the year, will feature a 2.5-hour sprint format this weekend as the event weekend once again sees the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race staged immediately following the ROLEX Sports Car race on Saturday afternoon.
