LEEDS, AL (10 April 2010)—2007 GRAND-AM Continental Sports Car Challenge Champions Trevor Hopwood and Adam Burrows made it three GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race finishes in a row as the duo finished the Barber 200 in 15th place with the No. 12 Kia Motors/Infinity Audio Kia Forte Koup for Kinetic Motorsports.

The result is the best finish to date for the two with the Kia machine as the program continues to grow momentum.

Hopwood opened up the race from behind the wheel before turning the machine over to Burrows in the combined-class race, which boasted over 60 runners.

“We were still in the mindset of getting as much data and experience with this Kia Koup as possible, but the car was a lot more racey than it’s been yet this season so it was really encouraging,” said Hopwood. “We had a pretty big push with the car, particularly power-down, it would just not turn today. I was just hanging on because the conditions were tough.  But it was another big step forward with the car so I was really encouraged.”

burhophomestead.jpgLEEDS, AL (7 April 2010)—Adam Burrows and Trevor Hopwood will be back in GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge action this weekend as the previous champions look to continue the growing momentum of the Kia Motorsports program with another strong outing in Saturday’s Barber 250 at Barber Motorsports Park.

For a lot of teams this weekends race, which will feature races from the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, Rolex Sports Car Series, and IZOD IndyCar Series, is just another event. But with Kinetic Motorsports based just a few hours away in Georgia, and with Kia having recently commenced operations just down the road at a new state of the art  2.2 million square-foot factory in West Point, Georgia, the Barber weekend marks a home race of sorts for many members of the organization.
